About
I'm an advocate of the conservation of global biodiversity.
During my studies, I have mostly worked with amphibian communities, especially examining disease dynamics of the chytrid pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis in the Tropics of Central America. However, my methods can be used on different taxa and the results of my studies have been used to develop management plans for threatened species at the regional and local levels.
My research in spatial disease ecology tries to answer several research questions, among those:

1) How do pathogen dynamics vary across the landscape and species?

2) How do pathogen invasion and range expansion occur over time?

3) How do threats and environmental factors drive host and pathogen range across scales?
4) Can tolerant species prevent the recovery of susceptible species?
